Gerry Kho Architects (GKA) is a small but progressive young studio practice formerly known as Gerry Kho Design Pty Ltd. The firm and the principal are registered with the Architects Board of Western Australia as well as the Board of Architects of Queensland. Current projects in the office include a range of retail, mixed used developments, single residential, commercial and multi-residential apartment complex projects. Our clients include home owners, franchise owners, retailers and small to large scale property developers.

Gerry Kho achieved an Honours degree in the Bachelor of Architecture from Curtin University of Technology. After a successful university career, during which he competed and won several architectural competitions including the E.G. Cohen Medal for outstanding graduate of Architecture, he was employed by a small Perth firm where he gained practical experience. During his employment, he specialized in retail and residential projects where he achieved understanding in the requirements of the business owner and the personal lifestyle needs of a homeowner.
Having been trained in the area of Environmental Sustainable architecture and successfully competed in Environmental Sustainable architectural competitions, he has keen interests and knowledge in the creation of sustainable buildings.
His university thesis on the linguistics of architecture focused on the creation of experiential spaces to enhance the understanding of metaphysical and abstract concepts in sacred architecture. Gerry’s understanding of universal experiential spaces is now being applied to create a broad range of architectural spatial experiences as a major part of his design philosophy for all building types.
His strong work ethics and realistic understanding of the business world combined with creative solutions and excellent design abilities marries the practical and the conceptual successfully.

If there is a design issue, we will resolve it in creative ways. From increasing contemporary constraints such as narrow or even corner blocks to the pragmatic solutions of fitting a plantroom in a basement without sacrificing too many car-parking bays, we will resolve it resourcefully.
Council regulations can sometimes restrict what we can do on the site. We find ways to achieve both what councils are intending and your own intention for your project.
